Michael Boktor, M.D.

Dr. Boktor graduated from medical school at Ain Shams university in Cairo, Egypt in 2004. He completed his Internal Medicine and Nephrology Training in 2009 and is a member of The Royal College of Physicians of London UK. He worked as Emergency and Family Physician in Wadena, SK and joined out Team in 2015.

He offers comprehensive family medicine and minor surgical procedures (joint injections and lump/mole removal).
He has special interests in Kidney Diseases and Diabetes.

After training Scotland (University of St. Andrews), spent several years working there and then in General Practice in London UK. Worked also in a large Psychiatric Hospital. 

After emigrating to Canada ran a busy Family Practice in Kingston for 34 years, was on staff at Hotel Dieu and Kingston General hospitals and the Regional Cancer Centre, and on faculty at Queens University in the department of Family Medicine. 
Since "retiring" to Ottawa as been privileged to be part of the RSMC team with a special interest in Mental Health.  

Derek McLellan, M.D.

Dr. McLellan is a native Ottawan. He was born and raised in Ottawa’s west end. He went on to complete his Honours Bachelor's Degree in Health Science at the University of Ottawa. He then completed medical school at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Finally, he returned to Ottawa to complete his Family Medicine residency with the University of Ottawa and with RSMC’s own Dr. Ashikian as his preceptor. He joined our team in July 2017.

Dr. McLellan practices comprehensive family medicine, from newborn care to end of life palliative care. He also offers minor surgical procedures (lumps/mole removal and joint injections). He has special interests in Prenatal care and Mental Health.

After 31 years of enjoying having my family practice, and creating the Riverside South Medical Centre with Dr Ashikian, I left in 2018. I do continue to contribute by assisting on an intermittent basis in the walk in clinic.

Nissi Wei, M.D.

Dr. Wei graduated from medical school at McMaster University, and completed her residency training in family medicine at the University of Ottawa. She joined the RSMC team in 2018 and has taken over the family practice of Dr. Maryanne Rice.

Andrea, B.Sc. (N), R.N.

Andrea has her B.Sc.(N) from McGill and been working at the Riverside South Medical Centre since 2013. She has experience at CHEO where she worked on a surgical floor. Andrea also has experience in working with new and expectant parents, in labour support, teaching prenatal classes and in infant feeding. Although it was brand new to her when she started at the clinic, she has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the adult and senior population, too. 

Jen, B.Sc.(N), R.N.

Jen started at Riverside South Medical Centre in the fall of 2018. She completed her eduation at UPEI and STFX University in the Maritimes. She has experience working with children at the IWK in Halifax, as well as in adult orthopedic surgery and as an allergy nurse. She looks forward to getting to know all the patients at RSMC.
